Review – SUKIN Purifying Facial Masque

Review: SUKIN Purifying Facial Masque

Purchase here, $15.99 Aus.

When Bianca Cheah (founder and editor at Sporteluxebecame the ambassador for SUKIN Skincare, I knew I would quickly have to get some products on board to review. Having followed Sporteluxe since I can remember, I knew she wouldn’t put her name against products she really believed in. Having always seen SUKIN products on my pharmacy shelves, I was never super compelled to try their products for some reason… boy, I was mistaken and wish I’d tried their masques sooner.Continue reading

Life lately – Housewarming

It’s time for an update!

During the weekend Hanne and I held a housewarming – we have been living here for around 6 months, however the apartment is finally how we want it so we thought we’d have a few friends over to finally warm the apartment. It was a super special night and we are so grateful to all of our friends who came around and helped us celebrate the occasion.

BLOOMBOX CO Flowers – DIY Bouquets & Styling Tips

I’m so excited to feature BLOOMBOX CO and share some DIY tips on flower bouquets and styling this week. This DIY was one of my favourite home décor projects to date, and it’s really given me an appreciation on how beautiful florals are and how they can completely transform a space. It’s so special to receive flowers that aren’t your everyday flowers (roses, tulips, etc.) and have them delivered to your doorstep. Thanks a million Mel and Phil – it was such a pleasure to arrange and play around with your blooms.Continue reading

James St’s Marie Claire Up Late

Hanne and I attended the Marie Claire Up Late event at James St this week and enjoyed a great evening of late night shopping and treats. Thanks to James St, Marie Claire and all other sponsors for having us and putting on this event – it’s such a great way to light up the street and highlight the best of Brisbane’s fashion scene. Special discounts, cupcakes and champagne made shopping at James St such a pleasure.

Review – Sarah Jean Lashes

When Sarah from SARAH JEAN first approached me and asked me if I’d like to have a play with her lashes, I was thrilled. I love Sarah’s story – she’s a local Brisbane girl who created her own eyelashes and adhesive line because she found that there was nothing else in the lash world like it.

In general, unless you’re a very regular eyelash wearer, eyelash application can be a little bit of a mission. Inspired by this, she developed a new way to apply lashes in a way where they were not only easier to apply than conventional false eyelashes, but they would also stay on longer too. Having not seen anything like her product on the market, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on these eyelashes and see for myself.Continue reading

Behind the name

I always share my thoughts, preferences, tips, favourite products and my travel adventures but I realised I never really shared much about my personal life or the face behind Margarita Chi on my blog.

You can follow my daily escapades on Snapchat ‘chicamus’ or on Instagram – I’d love to see what you are up to so feel free to connect with me. I have been thinking about doing a few vlogs, lookbook videos and extra outfits since those are always well received… we’ll see what’s in store for the future!

I thought the best way to tackle this would be to share 20 facts about me.

Let’s get started.

Lately in March

I haven’t done a life update in a while, so I thought I’d share some highlights of my week with you.

The most note-worthy update is my Olympus Pen E-PL7. I made my decision to buy this camera after my friend Hanne (who’s visiting from Norway) showed me hers (in white). I quickly noticed all the features that my current DSLR didn’t have and started researching.

Monochrome simplicity

minimalistwardrobe1 untitled-226

Recently I’ve been dressing in a very minimalist fashion – no jewellery, limited makeup and monochrome shades.

For me, simplicity at the core of an outfit is usually the way to go; matching or combining is not an issue and you will never be overstated. A full length dress with some intricate detailing and light boots are the perfect pairing for in-between seasons.Continue reading

Embracing a minimalist wardrobe

My style has really changed in the last year – if you look at my wardrobe it’s mainly monochrome and made up of high quality items that are versatile and work well together. I mostly wear black, white and grey as it’s my personal style and I feel really comfortable in these colours, plus I have the added advantage that most of my pieces work well together. I get a lot of inspiration from bloggers, Pinterest and fashion icons, but I have managed to evolve my clothing into my own personal style while taking from inspirations.Continue reading
